Pittsfield Charter Township’s Department of Public Safety is dedicated to providing the gold standard of police, fire, and dispatch services to our residents and businesses, and we hope our website will contribute toward that goal.

Our most important goal is to have open and frequent communication with all our residents and businesses. To that end, we have initiated a community alert and notification system using Notify Me and the publication of our Bi-Weekly Incident Summary Reports. You can also contact me directly, Deputy Chief of Police Gordon Schick, or Fire Chief Sean Gleason.

As part of our community-based approach, we are building strong partnerships with residents and businesses to deliver the highest standard of public safety services. In doing so, we maintain an ongoing dialogue through community meetings and presentations that allow for the collection of valuable input and feedback that assist us with quick, proactive problem-solving measures. If you would like one of our Department of Public Safety units to make a presentation to your neighborhood or business group, please contact me, Deputy Chief Schick, or Fire Chief Gleason at our email links above.

In the spirit of providing dynamic and timely public safety services, we are constantly evolving to meet your needs, so please stay in touch. We look forward to working with you.

Matt Harshberger,
Director of Public Safety

Proudly serving the community with honesty, integrity, and professional excellence.
