  1. When are my taxes due?

    Summer taxes: Summer tax bills are mailed out on July 1st. They are due in the Treasurer's Office by 5:00 p.m. on September 14th.
    Winter taxes: Winter tax bills are mailed out on December 1st. They are due in the Treasurer's Office by 5:00 p.m. on February 14th.

  2. Where can I pay my taxes and what payment options are available?
  • At our office - The Treasurer's Office is in the Pittsfield Township Administration Office Building located at 6201 W. Michigan Avenue (South West Corner of Michigan & Platt).
  • Mail - Please include the payment voucher and note the parcel number on your check - DO NOT SEND CASH.
  • Drop Box - There is a 24-hour drop box located on the wall to the right of the main entrance.
  • Bank of Ann Arbor - You can now drop off your payment along with the payment voucher at any Bank of Ann Arbor location. Summer drop off dates are July 1st through September 14th. Winter drop off dates are December 1st through February 14th. Payments will only be accepted at the Bank of Ann Arbor during these periods.
  • TCF - You can now drop off your payment along with the payment voucher at the following two TCF locations ONLY: The Michigan Ave. Branch in Saline and the Carpenter Rd. Branch in Ypsilanti. Summer drop off dates are July 1st through September 14th. Winter drop off dates are December 1st through February 14th. Payments will only be accepted at the TCF Bank during these periods.

  1. What forms of payment does the Township Accept?
    Payments can be made in the form of cash or check at the Treasurer's Office. Electronic check or credit card payments can be made online or by phone. Please click here for more information.

  2. What should I do if I didn't receive my tax bill?
    Call our office immediately (734) 822-3140. We will send you a duplicate bill. Please note, it is the taxpayers responsibility to pay the taxes by the due date regardless of whether the bill was received or not.

  3. How do I change my mailing address?
    The Township Assessor maintains mailing addresses. For more information on what is required to change an address contact the Township Assessor at (734) 822-3115.

  4. What if my bill has someone else's name on it, what should I do?
    First make sure it is your bill, i.e. check the permanent parcel number. If it's not your bill, most likely there has been a recent ownership change and the taxpayer information hasn't been updated. If this is the case, you may pay on the bill you received. Please note it is the taxpayer's responsibility to pay the taxes by the due date.

  5. What if I can't pay my bill when it's due?
    Partial payments are permitted. Taxpayers may, at any time after the taxes are levied and prior to March 1st of the next succeeding year, make partial payments. All payments that are not paid in full by March 1st will go to Washtenaw County as delinquent.

  6. What are the penalties for late payments for both real estate taxes and personal property taxes?
    Summer taxes: A 1% interest is added on the unpaid principal starting on September 15th. An additional 1% is added on the 1st of each month until taxes are paid in full. On February 15th an additional 3% penalty is added before the bill is turned over to the County as delinquent. Unpaid real estate taxes are turned over to the Washtenaw County Treasurer as of March 1st.
    Winter taxes: A 3% penalty and a 1% interest fee is added on the unpaid principal starting February 15th through February 28th. Unpaid real property taxes are turned over to the Washtenaw County Treasurer on March 1st as delinquent.

    Personal property and mobile home taxes do not go to the County Treasurer's office for collection. They are collected at our office.

  7. What is the difference between real and personal property taxes?
    Real property is property which is attached such as land and buildings. Real property taxes are assessed on either commercial/industrial or residential property.

    Personal property is any property that isn't real property i.e. fixtures, furnishings, and equipment. Personal property taxes are assessed only on property that is used in a business.

  8. How can I get a mortgage company's address removed from or added to my tax billing information?
    If you have an escrow account with a lender, a mortgage company or tax collection agency, the escrow agent usually provides us with the account billing information. However, you may remove or change the billing address by sending a written request to our Office.

    PLEASE NOTE: We only send out one bill. If the mortgage company requests the bill and the homeowner would like a copy, the homeowner must call to request a copy (734) 822-3140.

  9. I have a question about my delinquent real estate property taxes, who do I contact?
    Please contact the Washtenaw County Treasurer's Office to ask questions about delinquent real estate taxes, for any prior year. Their phone number is (734) 222-6600.

    Please contact our office to ask questions about any current year taxes that are past due (734) 822-3140.
