Reporting of Hate / Bias
Pittsfield Township DPS follows state and federal guidelines for responding to, investigating, defining, and reporting on incidents in which there is a motivation of hate and/or bias. The department closely monitors calls for service, criminal reports, and investigations for evidence of such hate and/or bias against any racial, religious, ethnic/national origin, or sexual orientation group. One such guideline is the Michigan Incident Crime Report Guideline on Hate/Bias Motivation.
