Parks and Recreation Master Plan

Landing Page Pand R Master Plan

The Pittsfield Township Parks and Recreation Master Plan defines the vision for the Township’s park facilities and recreation programs and brings together several planning efforts the Township has undertaken to guide future decision making. It is the aim of the Pittsfield Township Parks Commission to focus on understanding and responding to the changing recreation needs of Township residents. This focus has been the primary guiding philosophy of the Commission since the first recreation plan was prepared in 1971.

The purpose of the current recreation plan is to guide recreation planning and development efforts of Pittsfield Township park facilities and recreation programs through 2026. The revised and updated plan is intended to meet state standards for community recreation planning that are necessary to gain eligibility for grant funding programs administered by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and Environment.

The Parks & Recreation Department is growing, and this is the time for you to let us know what you want in your community parks. By commenting on the draft of the Master Plan you can help shape the department and its impact on the Pittsfield Township Community over the next five years (2022-2026).

We invite you to provide your feedback on the DRAFT of the Master Plan. Comment on any additions, deletions, corrections, improvements or new initiatives you would like to see in the Master Plan. Your input in this plan is crucial to helping the Township make the best investments in parks and recreation over the next five years.
