The Washtenaw County Office of Community and Economic Development (OCED) is offering free home improvement programs for eligible residents based on household income. Three separate programs are offered to help residents in Washtenaw County. All work is completed by OCED approved licensed contractors. The Home Weatherization Assistance Program offers services including insulation in the attic, walls, and crawl spaces, furnace and water heater inspections and repairs, caulking around drafty windows and door, inspections and replacements for inefficient refrigerators and weather-stripping around doors and attic access.
The CDBG Housing Rehabilitation Program includes owner-occupied single family housing rehabilitation, roof replacement **2021 waiting list is closed**, accessibility ramp installation, emergency repair, and manufactured home rehabilitation.
