The project will consist of a 10' wide paved pathway on the west side of State Rd between Morgan Road and Textile Road, the addition of a pedestrian crossing at Morgan Road and State Rd. It will connect to the existing greenway on Textile Road, creating a non-motorized connection to Truck Hero, Wacker, and properties Avis Farms North along Technology Drive, Avis Drive, and Lavender Lane.
The project will further the overall vision of the Township to inter-connect its jobs centers (along State Rd) with recreational, residential, cultural, retail, and municipal destinations by providing access to Lohr-Textile, Platt-Textile, and Platt Road greenways. The project will be the third north-south non-motorized pathway (after Lohr Rd and Platt Rd) but the first to directly connect to a business district that supports the second largest tax base in Washtenaw County.
