2020 Community Survey for Public Safety Services

In our continuing mission to engage and partner with the community to deliver the Gold Standard of Public Services, the Township conducted a Community Survey for Public Safety services in November to obtain resident input and feedback about our public safety department and the services it provides.

The survey has been completed and will be reported to the public and Board of Trustees in January. The report summarizes the feedback and input received from residents who participated in the survey, including our recommendations for enhancing Pittsfield Township Public Safety Department’s engagement and communication with the community, especially with regard to racial equity and justice.

A Message from the Director

Pittsfield Charter Township's Department of Public Safety is dedicated to providing the gold standard of police and fire services to our residents and businesses, and we hope our website will contribute toward that goal.

Our most important goal is to have open and frequent communication with all our residents and businesses. To that end, we have initiated a community alert and notification system using Notify Me and the publication of our Bi-Weekly Incident Summary Reports. You can also contact me directly, or Fire Chief Sean Gleason.

As part of our community-based approach, we are building strong partnerships with residents and businesses to deliver the highest standard of public safety services. In doing so, we maintain an ongoing dialogue through community meetings and presentations that allow for the collection of valuable input and feedback that assist us with quick, proactive problem-solving measures. If you would like one of our Department of Public Safety units to make a presentation to your neighborhood or business group, please contact me, or Fire Chief Gleason at our email links above.

In the spirit of providing dynamic and timely public safety services, we are constantly evolving to meet your needs, so please stay in touch. We look forward to working with you.

Matt Harshberger, Director of Public Safety

Proudly serving the community with honesty, integrity, and professional excellence.
